Family fun
Chamonix water rafting: water rafting is fun in any weather so why not try out the gentle rapids of the Grade II Arve river in Chamonix? If the sun’s out then it’s a great way to cool down, and if it’s rainy then it doesn’t matter if you get wet!
Adventure tree park: with five courses from kiddies to adrenaline, the tree park is perfect for a family outing. In a beautiful location close to Les Gaillands lake and outdoor rock climbing walls, everyone will enjoy testing themselves against the tree-top obstacles!
Summer luge: not only is the summer luge great fun, as you’re in the driving seat, but the Parc des Loisirs also has 15 more attractions to keep the kids entertained – slides, trampolines, chair lift, nautical jet, flying boat, water pistols, comet ride and motorcycle go-karts! You’ll get a discount voucher when you arrive in resort to save too on your luge descents.
Family parks & trips: Chamonix has some great alpine playgrounds and animal parks which are some of the most popular family parks and trips within the valley. If you’ve exhausted the options here then cross the border into Switzerland to visit the Emosson Dam or head out of Chamonix to Annecy and explore round the beautiful lake.
Mountain biking: no matter what age your kids, you can get out on two-wheels and enjoy what Chamonix has to offer. See our dedicated blog on mountain bike routes for more info.
Family hiking: check out some of our recommended family-friendly hikes in Chamonix valley which are easily accessible from the valley floor or using the cable car system. Our general walks and hikes guide also features a couple of other which can be recommended for families. The Lac Blanc in particular gives spectacular views over Mont Blanc and the surrounding massif, making it a very memorable day out. Older kids and active families will also enjoy the hike from Emosson Dam to see the dinosaur footprints, it’s a bit of a lengthy trek but worth it to see the ancient fossils.
