Opening weekend in Chamonix
We have had an incredible amount of snow recently in Chamonix, in fact more than fell for the whole of the winter last year. This means all the lifts will be open this week subject to local weather and with near pefect snow conditions. We arte now guranteed a white Christmas.
However if you are travelling to Chamonix this weekend, then be aware that there will be some delays at the airports as the snow limit is dropping to 200m.

First snowfall in the valley
It’s arrived! All last night our rooflight window was pelted with heavy rain….not normally a pleasant sound but when you know that just 150 – 200m higher up at about 1300m (Chamonix being at 1035m) it is snowing loads.
