Between skiing off & on-piste, alpine mountaineering, ski touring at sunrise or sunset, skiing cross-country from here to Italy (not to mention fondue & raclette every other day), you’ll certainly have your days well-filled. Here’s a list of the main events this season that you can squeeze between the busy winter amongst all the other fun.
Saturdays
🧀 Weekly Farmer’s Market every Saturday
7:00 – 13:00. Local merchandisers and producers come to sell produce like organic soaps, fruit & veg, bread & cheeses, local hams & saucisson sec as well as clothing & homewhere
5 December
💃 Maison d’Artistes Soirée Latino
19:30pm – 1:00am. Join in and dance with an Argentinian instructor, it’s free & very inclusive
5 – 8 December
🎦 iF3 Festival, Cinema VOX
Cinema VOX in Chamonix is celebrating & promoting mountain sports in this 3-day & 3-night presentation & film programme with DJ sets and conferences with athletes

15 December
🎤 Concert by the Chamonix Priory Choir
18:00, Eglise Saint-Michel, Chamonix. Orchestra conducted by Jean-Marie Couttet; €20 or free if you’re under 18
🎅 Servoz Christmas Market
10:00-17:30 in the village centre of Servoz – local traders and craftsmen, with an appearance from Father Christmas himself later on the day
18 December – 3 January
🎅 Chamonix Christmas Village
13:00-19:00, Winter Christmas Market held in Place du Triangle de l’Amitié. Local craftsmen, artisans and producers selling their products in a collection of wooden huts – with hot wine & steaming crêpes too, of course
20 December – 29 March
❄ Electro Circus Folie Douce Winter Festival
Circus show every Friday at the Hotel Folie Douce, with aprés ski from 16:00-22:00, Club 1969 entrance from 22:00-2:00 for 18+
21 December
❄ Les Houches ski lifts & Aiguille du Midi
8:45-16:15, ski lifts opening in the domain of Les Houches. The Aiguille du Midi lift also reopens on the same day ready for the winter season; gain access from here to the Vallée Blanche, the stunning viewing gallery, and watch paragliders take off from the ridge. You can buy your passes for both here
24 December
🎄 Christmas Eve & Parade
Watch the Christmas parade perform through the pedestrian streets of Chamonix toward the end of the day, to celebrate the eve before Christmas – be merry and enjoy the Christmas show
31 December
🎆 New Year’s Eve
Christmas & New Year’s Eve is a special time in Chamonix – we spend the year preparing for it, and Chamonix is great at putting on a good show. Join the crowds who gather in the town square for the last minutes of the year to share the joie de vivre!
4 – 5 January
⛷ FIS Nighttime Slalom Race
On the Planards ski piste, the Men & Women’s slalom ski competition in Chamonix, by night
Every Thursday in January & February
⛷ Free night skiing Les Houches – Floodlit Torchet Piste
18:00- 21:30 weekly – and accompanied by music & a mulled wine bar. Access the Tourchet drag lift for free each Thursday outside of the school holidays; where else can you ski by the light of the moon?
10-12 January
⛷ Kandahar Junior Race:
Under 14’s junior competition for skiers comingto participate from countries around the world; held in Les Houches
11 January
🎪 CIRQUE – Acrobatics show
A double-performance of acrobatics and music, at 20:30 in the Epacve Michel Croz. Tickets here

🍺 La Trace des Grands

🍺 Chamonix Unlimited Festival
Chamonix’s winter season always goes out with a bang! With stages all over the peaks, including pop-up bars, DJ sets, and sun, Unlimited Festival hosts ski-in parties on all the ski areas to celebrate the end of the season
