Les Houches in the summer is best described as bucolic!
Walkers will enjoy walking in the foothills of Mont Blanc and the breath-taking views of the Bionassay glacier, as well as gently ambling through the pastures – you can even stop at the Alpages de la Charme farm to take away some local cheeses! The Tramway du Mont Blanc also passes through Les Houches on its way to the Nid d’Aigle where it drops off sightseers and mountaineers starting an ascent of Mont Blanc.
There’s also a mountain biking track from the top of the Prarion gondola, starting from 1850m and descending back to Belleface at 1180m before returning to the gondola by road. At various points, you can also choose to take a more advanced route so there’s lots to keep you interested.
