The Brévent-Flégère area is criss-crossed with well-marked hiking trails, including the classic ‘Grand Balcon Sud’, which offer spectacular views of the Mont Blanc massif on the other side of the valley. Take in the sights of the Mer de Glace and glaciers of Le Tour and Argentière which can be seen from la Flégère. There are some lovely walks to lakes which are always popular, especially the Lac Blanc which is one of our favourites and is mentioned in our Walking & Hiking guide. La Flégère is also part of the Aiguilles Rouges Nature Reserve, so while it isn’t dog-friendly, you run a good risk of coming across a chamois or some of the other local wildlife!
Brévent is also a popular take off point for tandem parapente flights and out of high season you can also mountain bike on some of the trails – note that in July and August restrictions apply on hiking trails.
