Guest Reviews
The best thing about the chalet is the open-plan living/kitchen area. It's very attractive, spacious, yet cosy in the evening. The kitchen is very well equipped – the dishwasher was particularly welcome in a group of eight people. We also appreciated the washing machine downstairs. The chalet was lovely and warm – even the ski-boot rack had its own heater! The ski-hire people turned up after 9pm on our first day, shortly after our arrival, so we could ski as soon as the lifts opened next day. They were friendly and helpful. The downside to the chalet is that the bedrooms are small and there isn't much space to store your clothes. My partner and I had the only double room and there was just one small chest of drawers. Only one room is ensuite, so the rest of us had to share two shower rooms (one has a bath). It worked out fine for us, though, as we skied in small groups, so arrived back at different times. Getting to the slopes is a hassle unless you have a car, as you have to take shuttle buses, which get very full and only go every half hour. To be fair, we were there during half term, so maybe they aren't usually so busy. You can walk to Belle Vue lift – it took me 15 minutes – but you'll probably want to visit other ski areas, too. Warning: the drive gets extremely icy, so it's a bit hazardous walking up and down it! There's a Carrefour and boulangerie nearby, so shopping is easy. There are also a couple of restaurants and pizza places, so you can walk if you want to go out in the evening. Your ski pass gives you free access to an ice-skating rink nearby; just need to pay to hire skates. Overall, I really enjoyed my stay.

We had a fabulous holiday at Chalet Eveland. It met all our needs, was spacious and well equipped. Would recommend Les Houches as an ideal base for a holiday in the area. Chamonix all year looked after us extremely well and we look forward to rebooking with them next year. Many thanks.
