17th-24th January: Swatch Freeride World Tour Courmayeur
The ultimate freeride competition, with the best riders on the best mountains. The Freeride World Tour holds events across North America and Europe over 6 stages, 3 of which take place in Chamonix’s back garden – in Courmayeur, Verbier and Chamonix itself! The world’s best freeriders – on skis and snowboards – compete on the toughest backcountry terrain for individual titles or the overall prize of World Champion.
Between 17th and 24th January, the first leg of the tour comes to Courmayeur, before its next stop in Chamonix from 25th January. The final stage of the winter takes place in Verbier from 20th March, so there are plenty of opportunities to catch some of the action if you’ve booked a holiday in Chamonix. Book a day trip in the Chamonix All Year minibus to take you for a day’s skiing in Courmayeur or Verbier and soak up some of the atmosphere while you’re there.
About Freeride World Tour
The Freeride World Tour has been held under that name since 2008 and since 2013 it has combined three top competitions (Freeride World Tour, Freeskiing World Tour and Masters of Snowboarding) into one world-class championship. The roots of the competition lie in the legendary Verbier Xtreme snowboard-only contest which was launched back in 1996.
Day trip to Courmayeur
If you fancy a ski away day in Courmayeur to see some of the Freeride World Tour, book our minibus to take you there and back. Courmayeur is included in your Mont Blanc Unlimited lift pass too and, with some of our favourite mountain restaurants located in Courmayeur, there’s really no excuse not to go!
Non-skiers can come along too and either explore the village, enjoy a leisurely lunch on the slopes or indulge themselves at the Italian Thermal Spa. We also offer ski and spa days for the skiers in your group who are looking to pamper themselves as well.
And, for an exhilarating adventure for everyone, why not book our Italian Skidoo Night? Enjoy great food, great wine and an unforgettable skidoo journey through the mountains.
