Traditional celebration of the guide companies of the Chamonix valley – Chamonix, Les Houches and Argentière.
The Fêtes des Guides (Guides Festival) is a unique opportunity for the guides of the valley and locals to celebrate the bond that ties them. Tourists, shopkeepers and locals take part in several days of festivities.

Les Houches – August 13th
Guide office presentation and welcome drink in the centre of the village, accompanied by music from mountain guides’ choir. Later on, attend a movie screening in the Olca hall.

Chamonix – August 15th
As usual, the programme for Chamonix’s festival includes a spectacular show at the Lac des Gaillands climbing wall performed by the guides. Each year a different story is re-enacted by the climbers accompanied by a light and sound show and of course ending with an awesome fireworks display.
