Chalet Union (catered) & Chalet Bear (self catered)

We are looking for experienced staff to run two adjoining chalets near the centre of Chamonix. The successful people will have proven experience working in ski chalets, and must be skilled in both hosting and catering for groups of 8-16 people.  The two chalets will sometimes be occupied by one larger group and sometimes by two separate groups / families. The role would ideally suit a couple or two friends who have experience working together in similar roles, and have the relevant skills to carry out all the tasks of managing and running the two chalets.

The role of chalet host / chef involves a number of tasks. First and foremost your role will be looking after and catering for the guests in Chalet Union and the cleaning / changeovers at Chalet Bear, two adjoining chalets.  At chalet Union this involves providing breakfast 6 days per week, daily housekeeping, afternoon tea, and evening dinner service as well as co-ordinating their transport schedule throughout the week with the rest of the Chamonix All Year (CAY) team and doing some in-resort driving too.  As such, you will also be responsible for liaising with the CAY Resort Team to sell our products and services and ensure all concierge requests (e.g. ski lessons, activities etc.) from the guests are fulfilled with the CAY team and then communicated back to guests. Chalet Bear will predominently be rented self-catered, but from time to time may be rented as catered and so the same hosting duties will apply.

For both chalets, on change over days (normally Sunday) you will be responsible for the full cleaning and changeover of the chalet and will be supported by one other person. There will also be one shopping day per week plus potentially one top-up shop.

  • Management and stock upkeep of the drinks bar
  • Cleaning and daily management of the hot tub
  • Snow clearing around the chalet and driveways
  • Management of shopping and organising of stock
  • Cleaning and basic property maintenance
